Former Ghanaian International, Iddriss Fuseini, famously known as ‘Akonta’, has agreed to a partnership with Belgian giants Racing Genk three months after establishing a dream football academy in his native Kumasi, where he began his career.
After nearly four months of embarking on this journey, Iddriss Fuseini’s quest to making this dream a reality is gradually coming to light after the arrival of Mr Karol Brokawsi, a scout for Racing Genk in the Belgian league.

“I have a big plan for these young players, but only to those who take it seriously and pay attention to coaches instruction. I have spoke to the players and told them very soon we will have a lot of people coming in to see them and I want them to be very attentive and work hard both on and off the pitch” He said.
The team organised a friendly football match on Wednesday, 2nd April 2025, for his team, which is being coached and supervised by experienced Paa Kwesi Fabin, a formal Asante Kotoko and Aduana Stars coach.
” I was very impressed with how they are blending together after just a few months of being together. We will get there surely, and I only wish they didn’t rush in playing because they saw a scout from outside the country come in to watch them, ” he said.

Twenty-two (22) players that were selected by coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and are being camped for some period of time in Abirem has bring blessed with some jerseys and training kits from Racing Genk, boots and bags all branded from Belgian giants Racing Genk who are at the moment ready to form partnership with newly Kumasi based to Academy.
Speaking exclusively with Haskeonline.com/Haske Radio, Iddrisu Fuseini ‘Akonta’ reiterated that his main aim is to have his academy in Kumasi since majority of them are located in the capital, Accra.

On the other hand, Mr Karol Brokawski also talked about the need for the players to stay focused and work hard for the future is going to be brighter, looking at the project they are building.
“I can see a lot of talent here who need to grow and mature as players. I have eyes for two players, and of course, I won’t mention their names. I will work on them to see if I can get them to the off this summer. I have also told them to be focused and work hard. They focus so much on me being here rather than enjoying the game and playing selfless as a team” Mr Karol said.
