Captain of newcomers Bibiani Goldstars Zia Hul Haqq Yakubu has thrown a stern warning to league leaders Asante Kotoko ahead of their encounter in the Ghana Premier League.
Bibiani Goldstars who qualified from the Zone 2 of the Division One League have amassed four points out of six and are looking forward to leaving by their good start to the season by beating Asante Kotoko at the Dun’s Park.
In an interview with Haske Radio, Zia Hul Haqq Yakubu played down threats posed by Asante Kotoko stating that Goldstars are equally good as Asante Kotoko and will be unfazed by their opponent’s excellent start to the season.
“We’ll say we’ve started it well as compared to other clubs that gained promotion to the GPL from Division One.”
“We’ve four points out of six. Looking at Asante Kotoko, they’re a big club and we give them that respect but individually we are equal on the field of play.”
“This match will be tough and we hoping to snatch all the three points. Our supporters need the points and getting it will help us so much in the season.”
