2021/22 GPL Week 3 Preview: Bibiani Gold Stars vs Asante Kotoko
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Newbies Bibiani Gold Stars will be testing their strength against heavyweights Asante Kotoko in a herculean Ghana Premier League match-week 2 fixture on Friday afternoon at the Dun’s Park.

The teams have recorded a perfect start so far in the ongoing season having avoided defeat in their opening two matches and will look to fight for the bragging right today.

The Miners definitely will be expecting another huge crowd this afternoon just like their debut game against Berekum Chelsea- a game they won narrowly by 1-0.

Also Joshua Akoto’s late goal secured them a vital point against Medeama SC at the Akoon Park in their second game of the season and will hope to maintain their perfect run.

Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors will also be heading into this game with so much confidence having recorded two wins in their opening two games.

They humbled Dreams FC by 1-3 away from home in the opening day before surviving very late to edge out Bechem United with a handicap victory last Sunday launching their return to the Baba Yara Stadium in a stupendous fashion.

Asante Kotoko after two matches are leading the league with 6 points whiles Gold Stars are also found 7th on the standing with 4 points.

TEAM NEWS

Bibiani Gold Stars have no any major injury concerns in camp as coach Michael Osei and his charges are set for action against his former club.

Last season’s top scorer Prince Kwabena Owusu was dropped in their last game but is likely he will be returning into the starting XI today hoping to nets his first goal in the topflight.

On the opposition end, coach Prosper Narteh will miss the service of skipper and reliable defender Abdul Ganiyu Ismail who is currently with the Black Stars in South Africa.

Aside that, the team after arriving safely in Bibiani are fully prepared and poised to silence the Mining city by the close of the day to maintain their top spot
