The member of parliament for Asawasi constituency Hon.muntaka Mubarak has today distributed school uniforms to about 75 schools which comprises Primary and Junioe High School in the constituency.
The programme was held at the Aboabo school park at which various dignitaries were present and among them are Chiefs, Imams, Heads of Schools, PTA Chairmen, Teachers, Opinion leaders, Pupils etc.
Speaking at the programme, chairman of the occasion, Sheikh Ismail Adam, who doubles as the proprietor of Sakafia Islamic Senior High School and Regional Chief Imam of Ahlussunna wal Jama’a commended the MP for such an initiative and called for more support in the future.
Hajia Katumi Nathomata, the Municipal Education Director for Asokore Mampong Municipal, has also called for collaboration between the educational institutions and the community.

Furthermore, she said, like “Oliver twist, they’ll always ask for more” and commended the Mp for his support for the community.
Again, Hajia Katumi recalled an instance in which the member of parliament had to intervene to save a situation of not being able to conduct examination in the municipality.
On his part, Hon Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak has explained that, about 15,280 students of various schools in the municipal are expected to benefit from this initiative’s and are both from Primary and JHS.

Moreover, the contracts were awarded to some selected Tailors within the community in order to create employment opportunities for them.
Hon. Muntaka Mubarak urges the Head of schools to refrain from selling out the uniforms to the pupils which are meant to be shared for free to every child in the school.
