Skipper of newly-promoted side Bibiani Gold Stars, Yakubu Dzial Ull Hakk states they have started really well in the season and are under no pressure despite losing their last two game.

The Miners are playing in the Ghanaian Premier League for the first time in their history after so many attempts.

After four matches, Gold Stars recorded their first ever topflight victory with a slim one over Berekum Chelsea, secured a vital draw in Tarkwa but unfortunately lost narrowly to giants Asante Kotoko and Elmina Sharks.

Their captain, Yakubu Dzia Ull Haqq has been outstanding so far in the season gradually drawing the attention of lots of bookmakers in the country and has also established himself as a fan favourite at the Dun’s Park.

His consistent performance saw him win the man of the match accolade in their game against Asante Kotoko despite the defeat.

In an interview with Abdul Lateef Saddick on Haske Radio, the stalwart defender has disclosed they are under no pressure since their target this season is to only avoid relegation- a task they are poised to achieve or even make it better.

He said;  “Ok I will say we have started the season well because we have been the better side so far among the newly promoted clubs.”

“Losing to a club like Kotoko doesn’t mean we haven’t been good, we are still on track. Yes we lost at home but our fans are still behind us because they saw our perfomance on the day.”

“We the players of Gold Stars are under no pressure for now due to the fact that the task given to us is to remain in the league this season. But something like a top four finish will be a bonus to us.”

Bibiani Gold Stars will be coming up against the Accra Lions in Bibiani on Match Day 5 this weekend in the next round of matches of the ongoing campaign.
