Confederation of African Football, CAF have appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Laryea to officiate the first leg game between Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale of Niger and Al Ahly of Egypt.
The game which will be played in two weeks time will see the Nigerien Champions hosting the Egyptian champions at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché; Niamey, Niger.
Al Ahly of Egypt will be entering this season’s competition for the first time after sealing an automatic qualification from the first round of games.
US Gendarmerie Nationale defeated Burundian side Le Messager FC de Ngozi in the first round of matches and will be looking forward to pulling a surprise against the nine times Africa champions.
Daniel Nii Laryea has officiated a number of games on the Africa continent and he’s the best in Ghana.
